Frontend Engineer with a background in architecture of the built environment. I have a strong passion in the designed world, creating experiences, and the impacts on our everyday life. I enjoy unraveling complex systems to enhance user experiences. Making people’s lives a little bit better is what fuels me everyday; this type of work allows me to feel a sense of connection and meaning in the arduous tasks at hand. Growing up my inspirations were IDEO and Human Centered Design. Defining the problem, iterating on the solutions, and getting feedback is very important to the work I do. As someone with a strong design and visual background, I thrive in a Frontend Engineering role. Crafting reusable code, components, and libraries not only excites me, but also serves to empower future developers and my peers. In the past, I have primarily worked in React, Typescript, Jest, RTL, but I am willing to branch out to become more framework agnostic. I have some previous experience working with building APIs, micro services, and dabbling in backend services. Now that I have experienced a larger array of roles and companies I have been open to working more in fullstack with a greater focus on the frontend. When I am not working in software development, I am going back to my roots of architecture and creating experiences. I am spending a good deal of time now renovating a home built in 1922 that is 400 square feet in my after hours. We are converting it back to a Victorian era home after its last remodel in the 1980s. Sourcing antique furniture, modeling it out in 3D, documenting plans, and constructing each part out with my partner. We both are starting to lean into some passion projects as well, hopefully we will have more to share in the future. Thanks for taking the time to read my profile, if you are serious about recruiting me and took the time to read this far, include the words “Carpenter Gothic” in your message.
