About John Klancer
I'm an experienced software engineer and leader with end-to-end experience in product development. I have broad experience including product design, architecture, development, monitoring, training, and support. I enjoy building quality software customers want. I love digging deep, understanding a problem, and solving it.I started out making data processing backends and a UI for a satellite-based search and rescue system. This was a lot of fun - working in a small company to do anything that needed doing, working closely with customers, and lots of international travel. Working with search and rescue data, I learned that I especially love the maps part! Now I am working with maps full time and spend most of my time designing, building, and supporting cloud-native distributed applications. I prototype systems and write RFCs, commit code, review PRs, mentor, support systems and customers, and interview candidates.
