As Fellow for the NASA DEVELOP Program at the National Centers for Environmental Information, I am responsible for proposing and managing a diverse portfolio of 10-week applied feasibility projects, supporting program wide capacity building activities, and quantifying program impact across partner organizations and participants.My duties include:● Managing 1–2 seasonal project teams of 4–5 participants, providing project and administrative support● Designing cross-disciplinary research projects that apply NASA Earth observations and remote sensing techniques to actionable environmental and public policy decisions● Overseeing hiring for 3 project terms, reviewing an average of 100 applications and conducting an average of 30 interviews● Representing NASA Applied Sciences and Capacity Building at various conferences, events and workshops● Building and maintaining partnerships with public policy groups including federal agencies, local government, and non-profit organizations● Measuring impact of the program through monthly project highlights, geographic impact reports, and professional growth assessments

Conducted research projects to address environmental questions through the lens of remote sensing and build capacity in end-user organizations to use geospatial solutions and NASA Earth observations in their monitoring and decision making practices.Central Valley Water Resources II Project● Led project team in project execution and collaboration with the California Department of Water Resources and California State University, Los Angeles.● Evaluated remote sensing data from GRACE, GRACE-FO, and Sentinel C-SAR to quantify groundwater storage change and land subsidence trends compared to in situ well and GPS observations in the California, Central Valley● Developed an interactive web visualization tool for digestible interpretation and visualization of groundwater storage and land subsidence trends● Created an executable application to control the backend data processing, providing a graphical user interface to the workflow, and streamline the process of updating datasets in the future

Alaska Transportation and Infrastructure Project● Identified land surface subsidence due to permafrost thaw and thermokarst formation near-critical transportation and infrastructure in Alaska using Sentinel-1 C-SAR and UAVSAR interferograms validated against repeat LiDAR data.● Scripted an automated InSAR processing tool in Python for project partners' future use.● Collaborated with teammates, science advisors, and project partners including Alaska Department of Natural Resources, Alaska Department of Transportation, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.Great Lakes Water Resources II Project● Developed an automated wetland extent mapping tool in Google Earth Engine to inform partners in the Great Lakes Basin of wetland extent and change over time.● Utilized optical and radar data from Landsat 8 OLI, Sentinel-2 MSI, and Sentinel-1 C-SAR to calculate seven indices used in a Random Forest Classification Model.● Created an informative video of the environmental importance of wetlands in the Great Lakes Basin and project methodology using Premier Pro, Adobe After Effects and Illustrator.

● Planned and coordinated team bonding events for offsite company retreats of up to 200 people. ● Drafted contracts for team bonding events and company services, collaborating multiple destination management companies, hotel concierges, and event planners.● Hired, trained, and managed employees for corporate team bonding events and daily tours.● Provided excellent customer service booking daily tours and events.● Managed company website and social media to increase customer engagement.

● Led 30+ high school and middle school students camping and hiking while educating the students of geology, botany, wildlife, and culture of Montana. ● Provided exercises and activities to enhance student bonding and self-discovery. ● Managed budgets and itineraries of multiple trips. ● Ensured student safety and obtained of Wilderness First Aid Certification.

● Monitored the health of seedlings planted after oak trees were removed to build a bypass road for the County of San Luis Obispo.● Collected age, health, and location data of over 1,000 seedlings with a Trimble GPS device.● Utilized data to determine whether slope, soil type, or aspect were the most limiting survival factor for the seedlings. ● Findings were used to improve overall tree health through improving management techniques.
