Advertical Media is a new media company that develops and operates online media and community sites in several vertical markets, including education, entertainment, and finance. We've done several successful ventures, initiated some great start-up journeys, and had the fortune to do some great exits too, including Gifs.com (an easy-to-use library and search engine that allows users to discover and share the best GIFs) and ForexTraders.com (a social media platform connecting retail currency investors and allowing for sharing of historical trades and market analysis).

Dublin, Ireland

FlexTime provides HR, staff scheduling and time and attendance systems. The company has over 400 customers with more than 5,000 implementations and 200,000 users across government, universities and financial services. My contribution to their product portfolio was a standalone staff scheduling application targeting small and medium sized businesses (2004-2005) and a middleware rostering system developed for the Irish operations of one of the U.K.'s largest retail chains (2006). The system resided between Oracle's PeopleSoft and the UniPay payroll system. Focused on data integration and reconciliation, the project was part of the largest IT endeavors ever in the retail chain's history, which provided valuable experience and insight in taking part of such large scale project from specification phase to UAT and implementation.

Malmö/Lund, Sweden

Imaginefield was founded with the objective to develop mobile casino and poker applications as well as other games and apps for the early mobile platforms. In November of 2005, the company released its mobile poker game; Texas Hold 'Em Challenge together with Vodafone Sweden AB which became one of the bestselling titles in December of that same year. The innovative gaming system overcame many of the challenges and constrains imposed by the limited mobile client/server technologies and high latency/low bandwidth communications capabilities at the time. Imaginefield released a total of three mobile games on the Swedish market.

Malmo, Sweden

Developed an MVP of the Internet publishing software Intellyweb. Coordinated further development and managed a team of three developers. In 2003, I lead the process of Microsoft certifying both the company and the Intellyweb software itself and achieved the Microsoft Gold Certified Partner level. Intellyweb was distributed through a number of Swedish retailers such as Åhléns and also sold at Amazon.com, Best Buy and Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club in the U.S. The software was developed in Microsoft .NET technology and was nominated to the "Microsoft .NET Awards" in 2004.
