Jointly responsible for leading a core research group of five people (technician, physicist, two electrical engineers, and a software engineer) that focuses on developing and improving radiation detectors and associated data acquisition systems.Research topics include prototype design and construction of detectors (alpha, beta, gamma, neutron radiation), characterisation and comissioning of detectors especially for obtaining a federal design approval and certification. Some of these projects include extensive detector Monte-Carlo simulations based on GEANT4 and data analysis based on ROOT.

Description of Methodologies of the Waste Tracking and Monitoring systems for the management of the ICSRM (Industrial Complex for Solid Radwaste Management) of the former Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

Design and construction of a segmented crystal calorimeter made of 1022 detector modules for measuring the parity-violating asymmetry in the scattering of electrons on protons at the Mainzer Microtron (MAMI).Tested extensively various crystal materials suitable for fast calorimetry within 20 ns. Designed and implemented various test stands for calorimeter arrays tested in the beam line. Studied energy and timing resolution, radiation hardness, detector calibration, etc. Designed and implemented several test stands for gain selection (cathode sensitivity) and calibration of 1100 photomultiplier modules (gain + timing). Designed and implemented an optical bleaching system to reverse radiation damage of the PbF2 calorimeter modules.
