Klaus Schade has conducted socio-economic research and policy analysis in Namibia and the Southern African region for almost 20 years. He has done work among others for GIZ, African Development Bank, World Bank, FuturesGroup, various ministries, political foundations and consultancy companies in Namibia, Southern Africa and Europe. He contributed to the Energy Policy, the Green Scheme and Dry-land Crop Production Policies, the Rural Development Policy and the current Fourth National Development Plan. He has worked on macro-economic, trade and regional integration, and poverty topics. He compiles the bi-monthly Economy Watch Namibia for the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) and contributes regularly to the economic debate through media interviews and other fora.
