The Dean of Career and Technical Education (CTE) oversees and manages the division for career and technical education. The Dean engages in curriculum and instruction, program growth and viability, and program development through creating and maintaining partnerships with industry and program related stakeholders. The Dean is tasked with programmatic retention and promoting a positive culture within CTE as it relates to the mission of Bishop State Community College. Additionally, the Dean is expected to possess skills and abilities that result in implementing innovative and current best practices in career and technical education. The Dean provides supervisory leadership for all CTE administration, faculty, and staff.Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Develop and execute strategic and departmental plans related to the program growth of career and technical programs.- Manage technical instructional projects designed to enhance the quality of CTE programs and services.- Ensure the publication of appropriate course offerings, course sections, and faculty loads pertaining to student need and demand.- Assess programmatic services, certifications, and compliance requirements to ensure compliance with relevant accreditation programs and standards.- Coordinate the periodic review of programs, curricula, and evaluation of technical personnel.- Collaborate with other departments to enhance the student learning experience and advance career and technical education.- Ensure appropriate credentialing of CTE faculty, adjuncts, and lab assistants, etc.- Execute fiscal duties related to the maintenance of CTE, not limited to, supplies and equipment, budgets, materials, and compliance requirements per the institution and compliance stakeholders.- Oversee the College's annual Perkins report and annual budget.- Exhibit leadership, guidance, and conflict resolution skills as it relates to the support of students, faculty, and staff within CTE.

Oversees the negotiation and management of county, statewide, and national company contracts and training agreements for Workforce Training. Maintains a working knowledge of industry trends and makes recommendations for continuous improvement by active involvement in relevant professional organizations and groups. Acts on behalf and represents the Vice President in his absence.
