About Liz Klein

I believe philanthropy plays an integral role in interventions to address problems in today’s world. As a nimble fundraising professional, my work showcases impact and value for donors seeking to bring meaningful and long-term change. I am storyteller, using the power of empathy to place the donor in the shoes of the individuals and communities they impact. I care about causes related to health and wellness, healthcare, the Jewish community and Israel, and social justice. Currently I am the Director of Grants and Special Projects at the Birthright Israel Foundation and previously worked at the Anti-Defamation League, where I wore many hats, including writing, program development, relationship-building, fundraising, and social media.I earned my MPA at the Marxe School of Public and International Affairs at Baruch College with a specialization in Nonprofit Administration, complementing my passions with practical skills and coursework experience. Prior to Baruch, I was a student leader at Rutgers University, inspiring students to sign a pledge against hatred and serve the university community.Lifelong learning is important to me and keeps me striving to grow and try new approaches. Recently I attended the Nonprofit Storytelling Conference where I learned from experts about how to leverage storytelling in cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors. I love discussing philanthropy, health, genealogy, politics, sourdough, and yoga. Please feel free to reach out.Specialties: Storytelling, Grantwriting, Leadership Development, Program Development, Social Media
