Working for EE Smith has been a fantastic opportunity and allowed me to work in some of the finest hotels and private residences across Central London, including spending the past 3.5 years on Edwardian's latest new hotel, The Londoner, in Leicester Square. This £40m project pushed my development and skills and with a fantastic EES team, we have produced a truly iconic hotel for the 21st Century and Winner of AHEADs Hotel of the Year (across Europe) in Nov 2022.Over the past few years, I have had thr privilege of continuing my development on a dozen additional Super Prime Residential jobs (inc. £25+m Super Penthouse) and the new Peninsula Hotel in London (£55+m).Whilst my official job title is "Pre-Construction and Planning Manager" I am also involved in elements across the business, including website development, developing internal technologies/process as well as assisting with the tenders/business development.Prior to working at EE Smith, I graduated with a 2:1 BSC Hons Degree in Construction Management and Quantity Surveying from the University of Reading in 2009. As the 2009 recession was in its infancy and unable to find a construction related job, I set up my own (non-construction related business) based at my family home in Leicestershire.The business boomed almost instantly and it took a large amount of time and investment to get it to the point whereby I had skilled staff running the business with bespoke management system (I designed) running the majority of the back-end paperwork, staff rotas and advertising. The company kept improving and was honoured to have made it to the Finals of the Lloyds TSB Enterprise Awards (Midlands). After 8 hugely successful years it was time to say goodbye to the business as a new challenge presented itself, a return to construction management with a fantastic progressive company, EE Smith which allowed me to enhance my worklife balance and to afford me more time with my family which is what it's all about.Work Hard, Live Even Harder
