Pasquale D'Amico, born on March 13, 1980, is a dynamic and versatile artist known for his relentless pursuit of new creative expressions. After obtaining a degree in Communication in Perugia in 2006, he embarked on a career in animation, collaborating with communication agencies in Rome. In 2009, he moved to Berlin, where he began freelancing, securing clients and producing independent animated short films. In 2011, D'Amico created Lives and Quotes, a short film that combined various animation techniques and was shot entirely in Berlin. The following year, he returned to Puglia and directed L'Homme Grotesque, a short film that earned significant recognition, including selection for Vimeo Staff Picks and success at international festivals. This achievement launched him onto the global stage, leading to collaborations with major brands such as Yamamay, Warsteiner, L'Oréal, and Sisal.In 2016, D'Amico's L'Illusion de Joseph, an innovative tribute to the phenakistoscope, received widespread critical acclaim and was selected for over 50 international festivals. That same year, another of his short films, My Child is Dreaming, was also selected for Vimeo Staff Picks and won awards globally.In 2020, D'Amico completed what he considers his "misunderstood masterpiece," The Almanac, a project consisting of 12 mini short films, each utilizing different animation techniques. Unfortunately, the pandemic hindered its distribution, but the project still earned a few festival selections and awards.During the pandemic, D'Amico rediscovered painting, creating hundreds of artworks while continuing his animation work. In 2022, his passion for music resurfaced, leading to the release of his instrumental album Braccia rubate all'agricoltura, which explored funk and jazz genres. That same year, he was approached by an American production company to collaborate on an animated documentary for Netflix, A Trip to Infinity, which earned him his first Emmy Award in 2023.In 2024, D'Amico debuted as a figurative artist with his first painting exhibition at Art City Bologna, further cementing his reputation for artistic versatility. He is currently working on a top-secret project, continuing to surprise audiences with his boundless creativity.
