Neuro specialty rehabilitation

Long term acute care and skilled nursing setting evaluating and treating adult and pediatric populations with respiratory failure among other diagnoses.

Inpatient rehabilitation setting working with patients recovering from neurological conditions or injuries: CVA, TBI, SCI. Learned and trained in sensory reintegration, principles of neuroplasticity, and motor learning. Collaboration with interdisciplinary team to determine best plan of care for each patient.

Home health setting working with both adult and pediatric populations. Assessed patient safety and independence within home environment, providing recommendations for modifications, training on DME and AE, as well as caregiver training as needed. With pediatrics, treated infants and toddlers to reach milestones in exploratory play, functional grasp, and positioning. Collaborated with parents and caregivers.

Developed and implemented a group protocol for the Teenscope day program. Simultaneously created an elective course option for the U of U MOT program for future students to run the program in subsequent semesters.

Developed and facilitated group protocols for a male adult population detoxing from substance use.

Experience in outpatient pediatric clinic with a primary population of children with physical and cognitive disabilities

Experience in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit treating primarily premature infants. Observed cares, feeding, positioning, and sensory interventions for infants.
