 Lead Engineer for the design of an emergency standby power generation system for the Ashbridges Bay Water Treatment Plant, one of four municipal wastewater treatment facilities in the City of Toronto, second biggest in Canada. Review the design and operation of the existing facility, and modelled various scenarios to determine power equipment requirements during blackouts ranging from short durations to 24 hours or longer. Provided the city with layouts for future power plants using various emergency power supply technologies currently available on the market, and recommended a $1M solution that would best provide critical power support during extended periods of electrical outage.  Designed the Power Unit Installation to provide co-generation capabilities at a water treatment plant in the Municipality of Chatham-Kent; the design used digester gas to run the power generation unit, and exhaust heat from this unit to elevate the temperature in digester tanks.

Ormat - Large EPC(M) company, engaged primarily in Waste Heat and Geothermal Power Generation.  Coordinated the electrical, mechanical and structural design and engineering for a $15M+ geothermal power plant in Guatemala, and a $1.8M geothermal power unit in Kenya. Product/Project engineer and start-up engineer for the design and construction of a $13.5M Geothermal Plant in Costa Rica, a complex project with onerous penalties for scheduling slippage. Product/Project engineer for a $5M+ extension to the Brady Geothermal Power Plant in Nevada. As Project Engineer of the Oserian Geothermal Power Plant in Kenya, developed detailed and tightly engineered package to provide the customer with a turnkey solution in a region with complex material supply issues. Designed and built power generation equipment prototypes that went on to become the standard for the company.  As part of the engineering team, re-engineered a 3.5 megawatt turbine to produce 6.5 megawatt, reducing the capital expense per kilowatt by 40% to 50%.
