Kevin Lloyd joined HASSELL as Principal Architect, Brisbane Studio Design Lead and Architecture Practice Leader in October 2015. He brings a wealth of experience in urban design and masterplanning in areas of commercial, retail and heritage buildings.Kevin is currently involved in several major Queensland projects including:Herston Quarter Redevelopment - a new precinct in Brisbane which will set a global benchmark for integrated mixed use/ health projects. Kevin as Design Lead will ensure this redevelopment sets new standards for health facilities, aged care, retirement living, private residential and commercial space within a generous and thoughtful public realm. Gold Coast Airport Redevelopment - along with the specialist aviation team at HASSELL, Kevin is Design Lead on Project LIFT. This project will increase the airport’s capacity to meet future demand well after the 2018 Commonwealth Games, including the expansion of the terminal building, additional aircraft parking stands and a consolidated ground transport facility.King Street K2 K3 - a $2.9b Brisbane Showgrounds redevelopment project is a partnership between the RNA and Lendlease. Dedicated to celebrating the area’s history into this vibrant and growing neighbourhood, this next chapter is ensuring King Street is the place where Brisbane chooses to socialise.

Joining as a Board Director, Kevin was involved in leading the design and management of the Commercial Studio and oversaw projects throughout the UK, Europe and Middle East. The Msheireb Heart of Doha, was considered his crowning achievement - a project in the sovereign country of Qatar which totaled 100,000sqm+ of new development. Kevin was responsible for leading the overall design direction of the London studio and managing a dedicated team on a range of projects in the commercial, infrastructure and education sectors. Key Projects: 2000 - 2005 Euston Station Redevelopment Masterplan 100,000sqm commercial development and detailed proposals for a new station concourse and platform refurbishment. 1997-2001 Lincoln University The masterplan of a new university campus in the historic city of Lincoln, along with the detailed design of 25,000sqm within two phases of development for the Learning Resource Centre, flexible teaching and specialist media space. 1999-2002 Institute of Biomedical Research, University of Birmingham15,000sqm biomedical research laboratory. The building provided a major research facility linked to the adjacent University hospital. 2004-2006 Oxford Brookes UniversityThe masterplan 100,000sqm+ of accommodation for Oxford Brookes University over three Campuses, forming part of a consolidation and restructuring of the teaching strategy for the institution. University of Medway 2002-2005 A campus masterplan for 3 Universities and a further education college. The site, a historic former military barracks, was redeveloped to contain 30,000sqm of LRC, flexible teaching and social spaces. 2002-2005 Institute of Child Health 7,000sqm of research labs in a combination of new build and refurbishment space, provided over 3 phases. 1999-2002 University of Northumbria Masterplan for the Universities Coach Lane Campus for 25,000sqm of new teaching space. 2000-2003 University of Wolverhampton Masterplan for the University consolidating their 5 existing campuses into 4. 2001-2004 Manchester Metropolitan University Masterplan and construction of the initial phases of development for the Universities John Dalton Campus. The new buildings provided new accommodation for the Faculty of Engineering and Computing.
