I have recently graduated from the University of Derby with a 2:1 in Zoology, with my dissertation focus being on the effect of genetic bottlenecks on various species.I have a keen interest in marine biology - specifically anything related to corals, and an interest in molecular biology, animal behaviour and ecology. I recently completed a Tropical Marine Biology module, which sparked my interest in corals and marine life, but I have always had a passion for animals!I love learning and I am always willing to try new things! Currently I am learning Spanish, and expanding my knowledge on the statistical program R and statistics in general. I am hoping to have a future in coral research and I am taking steps to gain experience in this area, through volunteer work and eventual postgraduate study. I was a volunteer at the University of Derby’s Aquatic Research Facility, learning and helping to maintain tropical marine species and tanks. I would love to talk with people who are already a part of this industry and gain some knowledge on what aided their careers and recommendations on avenues or potential opportunities!
