The Oasis Teen Shelter and the Oasis Daylight Center are programs of the Skagit Valley Family YMCA in Mount Vernon, WA. The shelter provides overnight shelter to homeless, at-risk and runaway youth ages 13-17. The day program offers a space for any teens to be after school and on the weekends. The programs offer basic necessities (meals, showers, access to a donation room, computer use, case management, etc.) and additionally, the Oasis Daylight Center offers professionally-led social and educational workshops and specialized summer programming.Oasis Teen Shelter: • Hire, train and supervise 1 case manager and 10 overnight staff in a licensed overnight shelter for homeless, at-risk and runaway youth 13-17 years old. • Process payroll for all part-time and full-time staff biweekly.• Manage $350,000 annual program budget.• Maintain program compliance with fair housing law, WA Department of Social & Health Services licensing and mandated reporting requirements.• Create and supervise a new Student Outreach Coordinator to work with all school district homeless liaisons to support unaccompanied homeless students.• Serve on the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) Task Force.• Assist in coordinating legal, medical, advocacy and social services for commercial sex trafficking victims identified at Oasis. • Serve as Secretary of the Skagit Coalition to End Homelessness.• Create and chair a new Skagit YMCA Diversity & Inclusion committee.Oasis Daylight Center:• Supervise 1 full-time program coordinator and oversee 5 part-time staff in a free, community drop-in center for youth 13-17 years old. • Research, apply and manage compliance for $150,000 annually in grant funding. • Conduct program outreach and marketing at community coalitions and events, youth activities, trainings and YMCA functions both county and statewide. • Manage community partnerships and contracted services. • Coordinate facility operations and maintenance.
