As the Managing Director and Global Technology Policy Practice Lead at Beacon Global Strategies (BGS), I leverage more than 20 years of experience in national security, intelligence, and foreign policy to help clients navigate complex and dynamic geopolitical challenges. I have a proven track record of delivering strategic insights, innovative solutions, and policy guidance to government and industry leaders on issues such as cyber, counterterrorism, counterproliferation, and covert action.Before joining BGS, I served as the national security advisor to former Senator Ben Sasse and worked on the creation of the U.S. Cyberspace Solarium Commission, a blue-ribbon commission tasked with developing an American grand strategy for cyber. I also led the National Security and International Trade and Finance Subcommittee for the Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, where I oversaw the implementation of sanctions and export controls. Prior to that, I spent more than 15 years as an intelligence officer, deploying to multiple combat zones and receiving several honors, including the civilian combat support medal and a special commendation from the Commander of Joint Special Operations Command. I am also a non-resident senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute and hold an MA in strategy and security studies and a War College Diploma in security strategy and irregular warfare from National Defense University.
