I use human centered methods to research, design, and develop technologies for digital wellbeing. I have explored which smartphone apps provide the most and least meaningful experiences and which features support and undermine user sense of agency. I have redesigned features of YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter and tested their effects on digital wellbeing in field experiments. My research has been published at CHI, CSCW, IMWUT, DIS, and in Mindfulness Journal.

I direct the Human-Computer Interaction Lab. Together with about 30 amazing students, I research, design, and develop technologies with social impact. Areas include AR/VR, generative AI, social computing, and digital wellbeing.

Completed Ph.D. in Human-Centered Design & Engineering, co-advised by Professors Sean Munson and Alexis Hiniker. Dissertation title: "Designing to Support Sense of Agency for Time Spent on Digital Interfaces." Recipient of the 2023 Outstanding Dissertation Award from ACM SIGCHI, the leading organization of human-computer interaction researchers in the world.

I was responsible for getting approval on a waiver for assistance to Saint Kitts and Nevis that was signed by The President.
