A disrupter of the OEM antenna design, development, and manufacturing industry, RangeStar Wireless developed and manufactured enhanced antenna technologies. Custom solutions included high performance embedded and external antennas for hand-held devices and applications such as: GSM, UMTS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS & WiMAX. RangeStar was eventually acquired by Tyco Electronics.Developed new antenna technology for mobile handheld devices. While at RangeStar, Kevin secured licensing agreements with the NFL, MLB, and NBA Properties for exclusive Carrier direct promotions. Managed aftermarket products division including the Dash Mate, Paragain, and Shark Fin antenna assembly for both ODM/OEM channels.RangeStar became a separate entity after VC Capital spun-off the antenna division. Prior to the acquisition, Kevin scaled Safe-Case Inc., where he designed and manufactured the first Neoprene fitted case for handsets, Walkman, and other personal electronic devices. Kevin set-up production facilities in Torrance California and a maquiladora in Ensenada Mexico under the free trade zone program to produce the Contour Case line. Safe-Case products successfully sold through distribution, mass merchants and carrier markets across the US from 1992-1994.
