I am a highly skilled PA/Office Manager/Administrator with a varied background in the marine and maritime industry. Over the course of my career I have worked on a self-employed basis and in both the public and the private sector, always working with discretion, enthusiasm and strong ethics. I have developed many skills that allow me to bring a broad range of expertise to the table and I enjoy challenging myself to further improve my abilities. My latest challenge was setting up a Quality Assurance System for accreditation to ISO 9001. Approval was granted in 2018 and I have carried out reviews and internal audits on the system since then, ensuring that approval is renewed with zero non compliances.My career has seen me work in varied roles, including PA to the Operations Director at Pendennis Shipyard, PA to the MD of Magellan Cruise Lines, Finance Officer and Office Manager at the Cornwall Port Health Authority, Office Manager at Sub Marine Services, self employed Web Site Designer as well as long term temp placements in the international department at Cornwall College, working as part of the fundraising team at Shelterbox and working as Editorial Assistant at Westcountry Portfolio magazine. I am very IT savvy and am able to carry out software installation, ensure data integrity, carry out basic PC repairs and manage small networks.I am a naturally empathetic person and I have a strong sense of community spirit. In an attempt to try and alleviate some of the pressures on the homeless people in our community I joined a local volunteer group that deliver hot food every night of the week to the rough sleepers in Falmouth. I have been involved in this for the last 3 years.Self-disciplined and driven with a good sense of humour would be a fair description of me. I don’t like to take things too seriously and feel that laughter and good relationships are key to a successful working environment.
