I hold an M.L.I.S. from the University of Pittsburgh's School of Information Sciences (iSchool), with a specialization in Archives and Information Science. I currently work in the Preparation Section of the Manuscripts Division at the Library of Congress as a processing archivist.My interests include cultural memory and popular representations of archives. I’m invested in diverse and inclusive descriptive practices in archives, libraries, and museums. I am especially interested in how archives are perceived and understood by the public, how archives can better reflect unique cultural sensitivities (such as among marginalized populations), and in the tension between archival preservation and access.I hold an M.A. in early American History from the College of William and Mary and a B.A. with a major in History from Carleton College. My historical research focused on the social and intellectual history of the late eighteenth century, with special emphases on print culture and the Anglo-American relationship.
