I work with California's largest physician association, where I perform physician advocacy through practice management, assessing risk, offering general regulatory advice and when required, working with assorted health plans to address members' issues that they have been unsuccessful in obtaining resolution on their own. I act as a liaison with DHCS on Medi-Cal issues from individual case work, to policy and rate review. Additionally, I provide feedback and practice focused perspective on managed care contracts, as a subject matter expert, including creating toolkits and presentations. I have developed strong relationship with the members that I serve and in turn, with the plans/IPA/Medical groups that they work with.

This focus will be on proactive communication and identifying areas in which we can collaborate to better assist our physician members. With close to 4 out of 5 Medi-Cal enrollees now receiving benefits through a Medi-Cal managed care plan, developing a proactive liaison process with the managed care plans is incredibly important.
