I believe in the power of where, in interdisciplinary approaches, and in the inexhaustible opportunities that geospatial technologies present to industries across the board for big and small problems, especially in the age of big data. I believe GIS can bring fresh eyes to any organization, providing invaluable insights and solutions never thought possible. I have over 12 years of experience using GIS and remote sensing technologies for government agencies, utilities, forestry, marketing, and business. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography and a Master of Science Degree in Geospatial Science and Technology. I have experience in GIS strategic planning, program implementation, GIS education, geospatial database design, and I bring knowledge of the entire lifecycle of large-scale projects from development to operations. I have program and project management experience, managing a large GIS team, creating quality control measures and procedures that ensure data quality and client success. I develop processes and procedures for data improvement, testing and management, and strive to bring solutions for everyday and unique challenges through thoughtful and creative approaches.My graduate research took a landscape ecology approach: using GIS and remote sensing, I developed a workflow that extracted urban forest structure information and used geostatistics to test the relationship between it and various socioeconomic and demographic variables to understand relationships between urban tree maintenance practices in Hispanic neighborhoods and increased urban agricultural practices.
