• As the company’s sole UX writer until a mass layoff, I defined and crafted Oxygen’s product voice across its mobile and web applications. In this role, I:
• Collaborated with product designers, PMs, and developers across 7 Agile teams to design clear, user-friendly content—from the earliest concept stages through to high-fidelity designs
• Designed content for redesigned business and personal onboarding flows, a network referral program, virtual cards, money transfers, a virtual assistant, and identity verification flows
• Conducted a content audit of the product voice, recommending (and later implementing) ways to improve its consistency and editorial polish
• With Marketing, defined and documented the voice, personality, and various tones of the product

• In this role, I worked with an Agile team of product designers, UX researchers, other writers, and developers to build an online learning platform from scratch. This involved:
• Collaborating with product designers throughout the product design cycle, providing content expertise on sketches, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes alike
• Establishing processes for effective collaboration between designers and writers
• Working with UX researchers to craft usability tests and surveys to measure the effectiveness of designs and content
• Writing concise, clear microcopy (e.g., tooltips, error states, field labels, headers, instructions, labels, CTAs, confirmation & destruction modals)
• Being competent enough at Figma to make designers' lives easier

• As an LXD, and later a Senior LXD, I worked with stakeholders across departments to come up with creative solutions to improve the student and faculty experience in different SNHU learning models. I did things like:
• Developing proofs of concept in the learning management system for new online learning experiences
• Improving existing learning models by gathering and acting on feedback from users
• Offering creative and logistical recommendations to team members on the design of learning content
• Establishing visual standards and language to create a unified look and feel across a learning experience

• In this role, I:
• Managed a working group of 10–15 people during the months-long migration of 1,200 graduate courses from one learning management system (Blackboard) to a new system (D2L’s Brightspace)
• Developed clear, extensive documentation on how to migrate content from one LMS to another for non-technical employees who had little to no experience in the LMS
• Created a comprehensive, 80-page guide explaining how to design and build new competencies in the updated College for America program based on interviews with 20-plus stakeholders

College Of Online And Continuing Education

• As the team's only content editor and architect, I copy edited materials for all courses in the SNHU Accel format, an alternative learning model pilot. I also:
• Resolved editorial queries with the instructional design team and vendors
• Built new SNHU Accel courses in the learning management system and maintained existing SNHU Accel courses each term to make sure they reflected the most up-to-date content and policies
• Worked with instructional design team to develop standard language and templates for SNHU Accel
• Tested course components to make sure they were working correctly and worked with external vendors to resolve technical issues

• At NHBR, I interviewed, researched, and wrote daily stories and in-depth features for both the biweekly print edition and nhbr.com. I also:
• Edited all copy before going to press for spelling and grammar and thoroughly reviewed printed page proofs for correct placement of advertisements, proper formatting, and layout
• Posted stories online and updated the online events calendar in our content management system
• Wrote advertising copy and scripts for NHBR’s multiple awards programs
• Managed the surveying, fact checking, and creation of NHBR’s annual custom specialty publications

In this internship, I checked all stories for publication by calling relevant sources and through independent research, then writing detailed revisions for errors. I wrote feature stories and magazine clips on a wide range of subjects, from fly fishing to weddings to coastal Maine's dining scene. Other occasional responsibilities included compiling events.

I copy edited, fact checked, and acted as occasional section editor, which included selecting photographs and writing headlines, decks, introductions, body copy, and captions. I thoroughly reviewed printed page proofs before the magazine was published to catch any errors, and put together a detailed calendar of events.
