As the president of IT Strategies Group, my job is to define the vision of what we want to be as an organization, create an upbeat and positive work environment that attracts the skilled team members we need to get there, and help the team create the customer experiences that build our reputation and brand. We bought out the rest of our partners in the American Martial Arts Center and decided to modernize our brand, leading to a change in name. As the school owner, not only was I in charge of class schedules, curriculum and training students and black belts. I was also handled bookkeeping, marketing, sales, inventory control, human resources and all other aspects of running a small business.

Responsible for strategy, architecture, day-to-day management and purchase of storage software / arrays in an environment that grew from 300 TB to 3.5 PB in less than three years. This included software / hardware from EMC, HDS, NetApp, IBM, Oracle and CommVault. (Please expand the "Projects" section for specific examples of work done in this position)

Running a martial arts school is a lot like owning a restaurant, you are married to it and you are the brand. In addition to setting all the curriculum, class schedules and teaching classes four nights a week and on Saturday mornings, I also was responsible for:~ Marketing~ Sales~ Bookkeeping~ Inventory control~ Human Resources~ All other aspects of running a small multi locational small businessA large part of our business was also taking students to tournaments and throwing our own tournaments and training camps (event coordination). We grew our tournaments from hosting less than 80 competitors the first time to sustaining over 250 competitors the last four years we held our event. We hosted one of the only multi-martial art training camps in the midwest for four years, each year welcoming over 150 guests.

• Responsible for creating current state architecture, technology strategies and roadmaps for Storage, Windows, Linux, Unix, Mainframe and Networking environments. This was done on primarily EMC storage equipment, StorageTek tape libraries, Compaq servers, SUN OS and Hardware, Fujitsu Mainframe (later IBM) and Cisco networking gear• Led cross business unit initiative to segment IP network to better comply with Sarbanes-Oxly regulations and increase security• Negotiated and led implementation of Enterprise wide Windows Active Directory consolidation (movement of 15,000 employees enterprise wide from three disparate AD forests to one)• Set strategy and architecture for enterprise consolidation of document imaging• Led vendor negotiations for all technical acquisitions• Authored first TDS roadmap (mobile worker) which provided senior management a multiyear view into that technology segment• Utilizing an agile project methodology was able to facilitate a technical merger of one of the TDS business units and a company they purchased in less than two weeks. Was awarded the TDS G.E.M. award for exceeding Suttle – Strauss’ expectations regarding this effort• Architected, proposed and led effort to move UNIX and Windows platforms to a single backup product (NetBackup)• Authored, evangelized and sold storage roadmap. This roadmap included consolidation of storage resources, reduction of overall storage storage capacities and increased utilization of storage assets. In addition, the roadmap resulted in the formation of a team dedicated to storage management. This effort included managing the vendor relationship and all negotiations for equipment /software• Facilitated Technology Forums for three years. These meetings included technology developers,architects and business managers from all the business units• Was charter member and main coordinator for the EMC Wisconsin User's Forum for 3 years

Helped streamlined processes, created a program to ensure that development was as focused on solving support issues as it was on new projects and began to shape what would eventually become the companies design methodology process.
