• The Village staff member responsible for scheduling, research, outreach and coordination with Gingko Planning Design as the Village of Schiller Park begins their Comprehensive Plan project. I have assisted with the first public forum and have helped to organize the Advisory staff meetings with local business, board members and school representatives. • Building and Permit License Review based on zoning designation, land use regulations, lot size, yard limitations and setbacks according to the village code.• Public interaction: Intake / issue permits, assist contractor / resident walk in & phone applicants, schedule inspections, report resident complaints, Fulfill FOIA requests, field work.• Board of Health liaison: Cooperate with health inspector to provide monthly inspection reports at board meetings and report on department information.• Zoning, Planning and Appeals liaison: Coordinate with applicants requiring variances, text amendments, conditional uses, etc. to file petitions to be presented to the board. Worked closely with the Director of Community Development to make recommendations to the Board.•Business License Application: Coordinate building, fire and health inspections, if necessary. Zoning review. I have also handled invoicing, collection of fees and issuance of licenses.

Working to engage and educate local businesses in the merits and benefits of PlaceMaking not only for the greater community but businesses as well. Currently helping to lead meetings with local businesses to engage them in the process of creating a better place in that people are attracted and desire to interact in. Tasked with creating a tool through which businesses can properly assess the impact of the efforts to ensure that they can continue those practices that are successful.

Working with the School of Planning, Design and Construction to do outreach work and visioning for neighborhoods in cities across Michigan. Work with construction management professionals, University officials, and urban design students to help plan and envision the ways in which communities in Michigan should/could be growing.

Working with Wayne Beyea, a specialist at MSU, on finalizing reports for the State of Michigan's "Safe Routes to School" Program which is geared towards promoting greater levels of biking and walking as primary modes of transit among school aged children. As a part of this project I have participated and led walking audits in Flint and Lansing, Michigan. I also created the graphs and charts for the reports for Dexter, MI and was an author of the report. I participated and led a focus group study in Gratiot County on the Gratiot County Wind Farms. As a part of this project I contacted and recruited participants for the focus group study. Following the study I compiled my notes and transcribed the interview for further analysis.

I work under and aid the primary researchers involved in the project of redeveloping the 19-mile Michigan Avenue-Grand River Avenue corridor stretching from the state Capitol through Lansing, East Lansing, Meridian Township, and the Village of Webberville. As a part of my duties I reviewed and summarizing literature that pertains to the Corridor for the final report. These summaries were used to convey the need and desire for the proposed final project that we presented to the client. I worked with Dr. Roger Hamlin, Gil White and James van Ravensway. As a member of this group I was the primary author of the Constraints Section for the final report. The section particularly focused on the potential leadership that can be provided by two anchor institutions in the area as well as the difficulties of the multiple jurisdictions and flood plain management issues.

I worked with FTA to gain experience and knowledge of the Transportation field by actively participating in meetings, projects, and by organizing site visits. I was part of a team that helped to choose the most competitive program for the Transit in the Parks initiative. I also worked and interacted with private transit companies to further network and gain more of a complete understanding of the field. I represented FTA at the National Transit Institute's Introduction to Metropolitan Transportation Planning conference in Portland, OR.
