My responsibilities in this position are to recruit and admit international students to the university. To recruit I have developed partnerships with agencies from other countries that guarantee a specific amount of applicants per year. Recently I signed multiple Memorandum's of Understanding with three Chinese Universities setting up a 3+1 program that will benefit both parties, tremendously. With the agencies and university agreements, I have tripled applications, and more than doubled enrollment by semester. This increase has slowly grown over the last year.Once the students arrive, I am to get them acclimated with campus and set them up with courses, housing, meal plans...etc. Also, I am responsible for the transportation of students to and from the airport as well as any events or programming that we as a university put on for these student. To help fund these events and trips I submitted a proposal to the Board of Regents in Oklahoma to charge a set fee per semester, per student. While the fee added to the student’s overall bill, I was able to keep our end price below any other university in the state. This fee is also used to help the student with transportation to and from the airport in Dallas. The most recent program that I have started is called the Family Friendship Program. In this program, I pair students with faculty, staff, and other members of the community. This helps bring cultural awareness to the community and the student as well as give the student a family that they can rely on if they need something. Now that the fee has been emplaced, the office has become self-sustaining and does not rely on the budget set by the state to pay for activities and other expenses for the student.

In this position I was responsible for completing general education and graduation checks for students. When I came into the position everything was done manually and hard copy files were kept in a filing cabinet from the first time they came in to check their progress. I was able to decrease the amount of hard copy paper completely and use a program that allowed me to scan them in and label them with the student name and ID. Shortly after taking over I was able to refine the document used to calculate their progress and make it easier to fill out and read. Next, I established a schedule system requiring students to schedule appointments to get these checks done, the appointments were scheduled in 30 minute increments initially and cut down to 15 minute increments by my second semester. At the beginning of each semester I set aside one week where students could walk in rather than make an appointment. On average I would physically meet with 1000 students in a semester to conduct these checks and around 400 via email. Lastly, I was able to eliminate a hefty expense that was spent on ribbon and posters rolled for each student which also helped make our commencement quicker and mitigated clean up time after each ceremony.

• Serve as Scout Team Leader attached to Alpha Troop 1-180th CAV, forward deployed to Kuwait conducting draw-down operations in support of Operation Enduring Freedom; responsible for the accountability, sensitive items, health, welfare, discipline, training and professional development of subordinate Soldiers; responsible for the maintenance, accountability, and mission readiness of one MRAP vehicle to include all components and associated organizational equipment valued in excess of $1.1 million.• Served as the gunner for Headquarters and Headquarters Troop "Scout Truck" in Iraq during draw-down operations.• Team Leader of a security element on a secure base in Bahrain. • Serves as the Human Resource Sergeant for the 1-180th Cavalry, 45th IBCT, consisting of 500+ personnel; responsible for planning, directing, and managing all HR competencies; supervises and manages the processing and tracking of all Personnel Actions, Awards, NCOERs, OERs, Promotions, Flags, Leaves and Passes, and Military Pay; responsible for timely Personnel Accounting and Strength Reporting; responsible for the accountability and readiness of all assigned and attached personnel, to include supervision of four Soldiers; maintains accountability of equipment valued in excess of $2,000,000.• DTMS clerk, in charge of planning the Unit's monthly training schedule• Responsible for re-enlistments/extensions, transfers, attendance and leave/vacation • Maintained a spreadsheet to track when and where these soldiers would have their medical issues completed • Created spreadsheets for weekly/monthly/quarterly/yearly reports needed by chain of command.

In the Oklahoma Army National Guard I performed many different jobs starting first with the Human Resources office and taking care of soldiers documents. I took over Officer Evaluation Reports and anything related to medical, dental, or mental wellness for the entire Squadron (550+ soldiers). I held two Military Occupation Skills (MOS's) being Human Resources and Cavalry Scout. I was a team leader while deployed and upon returning home became a Unit Administrator and began planning the training, pay and overall readiness for the Headquarters and Headquarters Troop (HHT).
