Specialties: Storytelling, new media, multi-platform journalism, writing for broadcast and print, research, non-linear editing, Photoshop, administration, management, production, communicationsBIO:Born in Oklahoma and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, I graduated from the Grady College of Journalism at The University of Georgia in 2008 with a degree in broadcast journalism. As a Georgia Bulldog, I also served as one of the live-shot coordinators for UGA's sports show, Georgia Gameday. While in attendance, I had the opportunity to study Shakespeare abroad at The University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. I was selected, my senior year, as a student judge for the Peabody Awards. In 2009, I interned at the local NBC 4 station while studying at The George Washington University. After I finished, I stayed in D.C. to work on the production side of news at the NBC News Channel on Capitol Hill. I dabbled in local, D.C. politics and freelance video journalism before heading west in the Spring of 2011.I began my TV news career in Bozeman, Montana, as a multi-media journalist and evening anchor at KTVM 6 NBC Montana. I often focused on wildlife and conservation issues but also covered a number of wildfires, receiving an E.B. Craney Award for my piece on the Bear Trap II Fire. While working in Big Sky Country, I forged a love for the outdoors, becoming an avid skier, hiker and mountain biker. After three years in Montana, I moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. I worked at KRQE News 13 as a reporter on an award-winning, morning show team. I also filled in as anchor for the weekday noon broadcast. While in Albuquerque, I continued to cover devastating wildfires and weather events. I also did a number of investigative stories surrounding law enforcement and reported on the Department of Justice's investigation into Albuquerque Police Department's excessive use of force.Eager to return to the South, I moved to New Orleans in September 2017 as a FOX 8 reporter and weekend evening anchor where I covered multiple hurricanes, flooding, the start of the Covid-19 pandemic and more.In 2020, Birmingham’s CBS affiliate hired me to debut its new, weekday, 4 PM broadcast. In addition to anchoring the hour-long show, I also reported for the station’s evening broadcast. A year later, I took a break from news, joining MojoStreaming as Director of News Programming. **I am currently open to work!**I spend my free time outdoors, enjoying live music and dancing. I am an advocate for the protection of animals and I have supported organizations helping those living with HIV/AIDS.
