Kevin is a blockchain and financial technology evangelist and engineering leader with 16 years of experience. He has worked on a vast array of cutting edge technologies throughout his career and is an avid believer in continuous learning. In 2008, he interned at NASA and the Naval Research Lab where he programmed and sent the Pollux satellite into space as part of the ANDE-2 mission. Later, he worked at a nuclear reactor at UT Austin to study relationships between neutron multiplication and control rod placement. He also began mining cryptocurrency from his dorm room using Raspberry Pi devices at that time as Bitcoin was still in its infancy. After graduating from the Georgia Tech School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Kevin began working in cybersecurity at Cisco on the Advanced Malware Protection team before quickly finding a passion in software engineering, specifically in the areas of FinTech and eCommerce, where he was already familiar given his experience with cryptocurrency. Fast forward another 10 years in FinTech, and he has amassed a great wealth of knowledge in the space, having taken on various roles and responsibilities from founding engineer to being part of engineering leadership at several market-leading companies. These days, Kevin is specifically focused on making the transition from Web2 to Web3 as seamless as possible for the masses as well as banking the underbanked and unbanked in a world where access to such technology and control over personal finances is a protected human right worldwide.
