The first fruit of these efforts will take place on April 11th, 2020 as our first event, Nextopic: Future of Experience.

Portfolio companies go through intensive 4-month business bootcamp. Our companies are in areas ranging from rocket propulsion, asteroid mining, drone hardware, and flight intelligence to nanosatellite imagery, virtual/augmented reality, and building habitats on Mars.As an associate partner, I was involved with sourcing, organizing, interviewing and selecting for our 4th (NewSpace focus) and 5th (Drones & NewSpace focus) cohorts. Our 2017-01 Space Cohort was in collaboration with the United States Air Force and featured 9 companies. The latest 2017-02 Cohort featured 8 companies. Besides co-teaching the accelerator curriculum, setting up events and leading the expansion of the LightSpeed Innovations brand, I worked directly with 7 of the companies, Lumenora, RedWorks, Orbital Sidekick, Koolock, 4th Law, Voyager Space, and Space Exchange on their business development, market research, customer outreach and pitching efforts.

The Space Tech Summit is a multi year initiative of Draper University, Global Startup Ecosystem and LightSpeed Innovations that brings together hundreds of entrepreneurs, investors, researchers, and creatives under one roof to address humanity’s grandest challenges via space technology. The summit also serves to bring key stakeholders that will accelerate both the exploration and commercialization of the Space ecosystem.Along with 5 other partners, I organized a 250-people 2-day conference. I composed the event agenda and narrative for 19 panels/talks and determined the optimal speakers and organizations. I invited and confirmed 100 speakers from industry, startups, government, media, investment and influencers such as Tim Draper and Naveen Jain.

The Wharton Alumni Angel Network is a network of angel investors backed by the strength of Penn and Wharton in order to foster an entrepreneurial community. Its two chapters located in New York and Southern California aims to surface high quality early-stage investment opportunities for Wharton and Penn investors, match entrepreneurs with the right set of investors and deliver events and educational resources for the community.As a summer analyst and the only intern in the organization, I worked closely with several of the angel investors and the chair of the Southern California chapter, Ellen Chang. In partnership with LightSpeed Innovations Aerospace Accelerator, I analyzed the commercial drone & flight control markets for the portfolio company Qelzal and identified 7 partnering opportunities. Qelzal is a startup that provides aircraft and obstacle avoidance systems for commercial drones. I attended the pitches and participated in the screening of 16 startups in industries including EdTech, travel, healthcare & AR/VR. Prepared a 30-page due diligence report to assist our angel investors with a potential investment in Saambaa, a digital advertising startup. Assisted the network in sourcing 5 deals in VR, wearables, drone solutions, and data analytics by going to conferences including VRLA, MIT STEX, AUVSI and incubators & coworking spaces such as WeWork & EvoNexus. Helped organize a 50 people networking/panel event in LA for August and an 8 startup aerospace pitch event at Penn for November. Expanded and optimized the network's social presence by sourcing 2 channels and revising the 4 available. I am continuing to contribute as much as I can by working part-time in my final semester at Penn.
