Established the culture and strategy of DISC, motivated employees, and drove change within the organization.Led the executive/senior management of the organization and managed the financial and physical resources, including 35 permanent employees and 40 temporary employees, 3 Egypt offices and other temporary project offices in Middle East, and an annual budget of ~500,000 US dollars. Presented DISC’s work with press, public, and partner institutions. Led DISC in implementing about fifty projects for partners including USAID, Foundation for the Future, MEPI, ICT4Peace Foundation and Freedom House. Key projects; election monitoring of the 2011 Tunisian elections and Egyptian 2010 and 2011 elections using Ushahidi technology, Transparency & Accountability initiative NAZAHA which was honored as one of the top Ten Websites that Changed the World 2009 by the e-Democracy Forum, and Activism 2.0, a Nonprofit & Journalist academy providing capacity building, training and support to more than 3,000 individuals from hundreds of NGOs & Journalists in Egypt and Arab region.

Switzerland

Provided the highest level of consultative support on information-technology based systems. Assisted in Planning, designing and implementing “Ushahidi” Technology, to support the first democratic elections in Tunisia “Higher Independent Election Committee” in 2011. Led a team including around 40 employees to monitor the elections throughout Tunisia via Ushahidi and trained approximately 850 observers.
