Sr. Network Engineer
• Installed and configured (from P.O. to production) Cisco UCS system with Nexus 5K switches, Cisco 6248 Fabric Interconnects, Cisco Blade Chassis (servers) and two EMC VNX storage arrays. Continued to configure/manage as needed. Two separate occasions.• Designed network architectures for various clients and implemented those architectures to include WAN (MPLS, BGP, etc.) and LAN (IP scheme, switching, security, wireless). Required working with ISP’s and other vendors and having a deep understanding of all aspects of networking.• Act as level 3 escalation point for managed services help desk.• Layout and implement wireless LAN solutions (Cisco) and troubleshoot wireless issues remotely as well as onsite including providing wireless signal heat maps for clients using various tools.• Configure and troubleshoot various models of routers, switches, and firewalls to include Cisco, Dell, HP, Fortinet, WatchGuard, SonicWall, Netgear, and Extreme. • Using network tools such as Network Instrument’s Observer, Wireshark, NetScout, Intermapper, Solarwinds, Shenick TeraVM, PRTG, and Kaseya, AccelOps, Fluke Wireless tool, and PRTG troubleshoot, isolate, and remediate all manner of networking issues including working with all ISP’s to resolve problems.• Serve as pre-sales engineer for proposed projects for clients. This includes putting together and presenting PowerPoint’s to executive management for potential and existing clients.• Perform various Account Manager functions on as needed basis.• Manage all aspects of Paranet’s and Paranet’s client’s colocation facilities (Data Centers).• Build VPN tunnels as necessary to facilitate site to site VPN connectivity – various hardware manufactures – predominantly Cisco but also Fortinet, WatchGuard.• Manage all aspects of Zultys MX350 PBX for Paranet. Also familiar with Cisco Call Manager/Unity.• Install and manage Blue Coat Packet Shapers for multiple client’s to include WAN compression/optimization.
