Developed a microservices-based policy system for Commercial Excess Auto Liability and Healthcare using Spring Boot, enhancing logging in MuleSoft middleware for centralized tracing in the ELK stack. Implemented Spring Security with custom roles for authentication and authorization, and utilized Apache Kafka for asynchronous service communication, improving throughput and reliability through design patterns like Circuit Breaker and API Gateway. Integrated the third-party vendor CAB for business information retrieval and implemented rate calculation logic, while managing deployment and monitoring of backend services.

Designed and implemented a property and casualty insurance application for the Commercial Auto line of business, transitioning from a monolithic structure to a microservices architecture in Java. Conducted a comprehensive analysis of existing systems, identifying 11 key components for decomposition into microservices, which enhanced focus and performance. Led integrations with third-party vendor APIs such as VIN for vehicle information and MVR/CLUE for driver details, while developing RESTful APIs in Spring Boot for rating calculations with improved error handling.
