Hello, my name is Kendall Brown, and I am not your average developer. I am a District of Columbia native with a passion for making the world a better place through technology. A Pennsylvania State University graduate with degrees in Sociology and Information Science I combine a flare for technology with a deep empathy for others that creates my recipe for success.Since graduating in 2010 I have consulted on, updated, and designed any front-facing pages for several large non-profits. This includes working on high traffic sites for the American Political Science Association - the largest political science association in the United States of America, American University Washington College of Law - one of the largest law schools in the country, and the Hearing Loss Association of America - a site that receives over 500,000 annual views.The majority of my work has been via front end development. However, I am committed to being the best full stack developer possible. On the front end I have dived deep into HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, and AngularJS. In fact, I have created my own JavaScript library and jQuery Plugin in my commitment to be a strong developer. On the back end I have taken several Ruby on Rails courses and built test driven sites with the software.In my personal life, I find great pleasure in volunteerism. I am currently the President of a local Penn State Alumni chapter. I help to mentor Ward 8 students in STEM, through College Tribe helping to teach them programming.
