Her work has meaningfully impacted wide ranging business issues including climate change and natural capital, responsible sourcing and sustainable supply chains, and human capital management and human rights. A recognized thought leader and sought-after public speaker, Katherine is frequently cited as one of the top global leaders in sustainability and was a First Movers Fellow at the Aspen Institute. Katherine currently serves as Chief Sustainability Officer and SVP of Sustainability, Policy & Philanthropy at Duke Energy. She also sits on Duke Energy's Strategy Advisory Council. Katherine joined Duke Energy in 2020 from Walmart, where she led ESG for the enterprise and oversaw wide ranging strategic initiatives on behalf of the sustainability program. As part of her role, she led Walmart’s work on human rights and engagement in COP21 & COP23. From 2007-2013, Katherine managed one of the World Wildlife Fund's largest corporate-NGO partnerships, a $100M sustainability-driven initiative with the Coca-Cola Company focused on water, agriculture and climate.
