I am an alternative energy entrepreneur with over two decades of experience transitioning from maritime ventures to innovative energy solutions. As the co-founder and CEO of Uprise Energy, I have pioneered the development of the world's first portable wind turbine of meaningful size. Our technology overcomes traditional market constraints with patented innovations that enhance power generation and usability for distributed power generation.My career began at Knight & Carver Yachtcenter, a company my father founded in 1972, which grew to become California's largest boat-building company and the premier marine repair facility on the West Coast. Growing up, I worked in every department—from carpentry and mechanical work to production control. After college, I became Production Manager, overseeing an average of 25,000 billable hours per month and implementing production control systems that fostered a culture of on-time, on-budget performance. Eventually, I was promoted to Business Manager, adding responsibilities like contract management, facility relations with the Port of San Diego, and insurance negotiations.Under my management, the company was awarded "Boatyard of the Year" by Showboats Magazine and completed notable projects like the Navy stealth vessel "Stiletto," the largest carbon fiber structure ever built and recognized as one of Time Magazine's "Best New Inventions." Recognizing the potential of composite technology in renewable energy, I played a pivotal role in forming Knight & Carver Wind Group. We addressed serial failures in wind blades by repairing thousands for global clients such as Vestas, Mitsubishi, and Clipper. We partnered with the U.S. Department of Energy to develop the STAR Blade®, which set records for best coefficient of power (Cp) and received top accolades from the DOE.As an advocate for conscientious capitalism, I believe in leveraging technology to make the world a better place while achieving financial success. I've been a featured speaker at energy events worldwide, including the World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi, CERAWeek, TEKNOFEST in Istanbul, AWS Future Energy in Lisbon, and EarthX. I also won EvoNexus's Demo Day at Qualcomm.I am a creative thinker with a business focus, always striving to leverage technology to make the world a better place.
