As a marketing assistant at Ziegler Cooper, I was tasked with multiple tasks and responsibilities. My position included the production of presentations, proposals, submittals, and promotional literature. I supported the efforts of the firm’s principal’s throughout business development while maintaining the firm’s brand guidelines. I also assisted with the coordination of company rebranding including a redesign of marketing materials including a presentation standard, letterhead, business cards, infographics, and website design. I was also tasked with the responsibility of encouraging a welcoming office culture and introduced onboarding procedures to reiterate a welcoming environment. I coordinated announcements for the firm and worked with the Social Committee to organize team bonding and social events. The programs I have used include InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.

While interning full-time on Corporate Interiors team I attended client meetings, assisted in design development and ideation, and surveyed existing RCP, Data and Power Plans. I helped to put concept into 3D design conceptualization, and used AutoCAD and Revit for test fits and space planning. With my team, we completed Construction Documents for submittal, and used Newforma to help keep our finish selections and submittals organized. I was able to meet with multiple vendors and familiarize myself with commercial products.

In this role I coordinated client meetings and introduced walk-ins to the design showroom. I worked directly with clients to produce technical drawings in a proficient and timely manner using AutoCAD. Went on site to take measurements and record them as needed, and helped Project Managers with installation specifications and technical drawings needed for install. I also gained product knowledge on flooring, cabinetry, plumbing, appliances, and lighting used in a residential setting.

Working full-time with architects and designers on the corporate interiors, I dealt with multiple levels of the design process, coordinating directly with the head architect. I became proficient in AutoCAD and SketchUp as well as their standards for use in commercial settings. While working alongside the Project Designers, we selected finishes for multiple design schemes within one corporate campus, deciding on a complete and cohesive design that complemented wayfinding. During my internship, I was able to strengthen my problem solving and design skills in a real world environment.

Working part-time, I handled all incoming and outgoing mail and faxes. Answered telephone calls and directed them as appropriate. Scheduled appointments for site visits and maintained the organization of all job files while working under the Civil Engineer.
