I repaired old and damaged books in the UW Library system

I investigated the kinetics of DNA transcription in E. coli RNA polymerase using fluorescent and radioactive techniques. I worked independently and as a team to investigate the effects of RNA polymerase variants on the initiation kinetics of transcription.

I investigated the effects of metabolism in embryonic development using mice and medaka model systems. I collaborated with an international team of pre- and post- doctoral students to conduct this research. For my primary techniques, I performed in situ hybridizations and used confocal microscopy in order to study the molecular signalling involved in the developmental processes of embyros.

I conducted an independent project studying a collection of terracotta figurines from Colonial India. I learned archaeological documentation techniques, conducted library research, and experimented with ancient crafting techniques to determine the origin of the figurines.
