Howard M. Knoff, Ph.D., the creator/President of Project ACHIEVE, has been a "hands-on" practitioner and consultant for thousands of school districts--nationally and internationally--for over 30 years. He specializes in strategic planning and organizational development, effective (academic & behavioral) school success strategies, school discipline and comprehensive positive behavioral support systems, & multi-tiered services and supports for academically struggling and behaviorally challenging students. Previously, he served as Director of the State Improvement Grant for the Arkansas Department of Education where he guided the statewide implementation of Project ACHIEVE components. Before that (for 18 years), he was a tenured Full Professor of School Psychology at the University of South Florida (Tampa, FL) where he was the Director of its School Psychology Program for 12 years, and creator and Director of the Institute for School Reform, Integrated Services, & Child Mental Health and Educational Policy at USF. Dr. Knoff received his Ph.D. degree from Syracuse University in 1980, and has worked as a practitioner, consultant, licensed psychologist, and university professor since 1978. Dr. Knoff has published more than 150 articles or book chapters and delivered over 3,500 papers or workshops nationally—including the best seller "School Discipline, Classroom Management, and Student Self-Management: A PBS Implementation Guide" from Corwin Press, and the nationally recognized "Stop & Think Social Skills Program." A recipient of the Lightner Witmer Award from the American Psychological Association's School Psychology Division in 1989 for early career contributions and over $20 million in external grants during his career, he was the 21st President of the National Association of School Psychologists now representing over 25,000 school psychologists.
