Fiserv is the Fintech leader, delivering financial services to a global audience. As Development Director I am responsible for delivering programmes of work across software products and services, to some of the largest and most innovative banks and retailers around the world. Working with government bodies to meet regulatory requirements, gain funding and deliver new initiatives.As the leader, I have responsibility for multiple teams and vendors across different global locations. Teams include software engineers, test engineers, devops, business systems analyst, scrum masters and project managers. We deliver services to over 2500 Financial Institutions which get used by more than 15 million end-users, working with a wide range of stakeholders and customers, to deliver our award-winning services.

As the Development Manager, I worked with multiple globally distributed teams across several distinct product lines. I was responsible for building relationships with governments, universities, and other educational bodies as well as building brand recognition within the community and industry. The creation and maintenance of standards and guidelines to increase quality and create supportability. As well as all aspects of software development.

As Development Manager, I was responsible for the standards and governance of all design and development work across UK businesses, including all of the companies’ websites. The goal was to bring industry best practices throughout this international company, in addition to authoring the standards for the corporation. I provided advice and expert guidance on legal requirements and government regulations, for example meeting the Equality Act as well as providing the day-to-day line management, training, and mentoring for the development engineering teams.The key objective of my role was to deliver the new digital architecture that will evolve the company from a 300-year-old offline-focused organisation to a digitally leading insurance and investment provider.

This role allowed me to use my years of business expertise while applying a pragmatic and forward-thinking approach to problem-solving and defining solutions. The day-to-day role included providing consultation, advice, and guidance from idea conception through to project delivery. I managed the project and stakeholders, reporting on delivered solutions and assessing their conformity to the scope and requirements to ensure benefits were realised.

Leading business objectives and marketing needs via the company’s digital assets. Producing concepts and designs which followed through to development and delivery. The breadth of this role included project management, to user research and technical development.
