Developed a comprehensive budget tracking system including fund and chart strings management for hiring student assistants for Leadership team to streamline financial management processes and division decisions. Managed 15 student leads through individual coaching sessions, goal setting plans and creating accountability and advancement processes to support the experience of 130 student assistants. Launched internship program for data science affiliated students with internship placement, resume & interview coaching, and building partner relationships for a placement rate of ~60%. Operationalized recruiting and application processes for Data Scholars Program and DSUS through intentional outreach, standardizing rubrics and application questions for more inclusive admission and hiring practices.

In fall 2015, the University of Michigan embarked upon a renewed commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.After a yearlong period of intense planning, 49 units across campus devised strategic goals to create a more diverse and equitable campus. Develop campus-wide accessibility resource guide for event planning by cross-departmental collaboration with 10 faculty, staff, and student advocates and disseminate guide to over 50 DEI department leads across UM campus. Support DEI team in execution of 3 DEI campus-wide events by managing logistics such as accessibility access to create a seamless experience for over 1,000 faculty, staff and students. Conducted DEI interviews of faculty, staff, and students to highlight UM campus climate progress

UM National Center for Institutional Diversity (NCID) mission is to create a more equitable and inclusive society, that produce, catalyze, and elevate diversity research and scholarship. They also build intergenerational communities of scholars and leaders to integrate these evidence-based approaches in addressing contemporary issues in a diverse society.Collaborate with on campus organizations to create a curriculum using the Social Action Leadership Transformative Model (SALT). Conduct literature reviews and surveys to expand on the SALT Model by creating a psychometric scale.

The Mentorship Program is a non-residential Learning Community designed to help first year students become more acclimated to campus life. The mentoring relationships are complemented by a series of skill building activities, social events and special opportunities to add balance and support to the first year college student experience.Overhaul accountability procedures, interview processes, and recruitment by redesigning job descriptions, and interview and training protocols to increase student, faculty, and staff participation by 40%. Develop pilot DEI program, curricula, and training materials for mentors to lead 8 workshops with 200 first year students that address the academic and emotional wellness. Created program evaluation metrics that incorporated feedback from past participants through focus groups and survey data. Supervise and support 5 student communication coordinators to ensure the execution of 15 events are inclusive for first-year students by training and development on inclusion practices as well as provide job readiness resources

Counsel over 100 incoming first year students by creating an academic plan to meet the business requirements. Provide emotional encouragement, support, and on-campus resources to alleviate students’ concerns about adjustment entering college.

San Francisco Bay Area

• Empower over 87 Black and Latinx computer science Fellows in the San Francisco/Oakland area by providing emotional, career and professional development support, community resources, and targeted outreach. • Implement 12 workshops and 5 larger community events in 8 weeks by coordinating the logistics, including inviting relevant speakers and facilitators, managing events on-site, and coaching company partners to maximize the experience with Fellows.• Launch pilot program to foster discussion and awareness around the effects of gentrification and tech within communities of color in the Bay Area.

• Implement and maintain 3 organization-wide systems to increase efficiency including creating an onboarding process, utilizing outside resources such as Box to archive historical organizational knowledge, and creating a feedback loop for current systems.• Strengthen the internal departments through daily management and organization of office space and problem- solve for technical and operational issues and enforcing office norms.• Execute on operational logistics for 3 major students, community events, and 1 staff retreat: Welcome Weekend, Hack4Diversity, Code2040 Summit, and DC Jamboree”• Cultivate culture through 3 staff wide office celebrations and over 7 staff appreciation events including welcome and farewell luncheons.
