Responsible to develop a fully equipped and response ready external marine firefighting team, fully compliant with the intent and purpose of the new Salvage and Marine Firefighting regulations.Responsibilities include: - Managing the marine fire and emergency response team during response operations. - Develop team tactics and response strategies during emergencies. - Develop and manage team training evolutions around the State of Hawaii and across the United States. - Identify training requirements and qualification criteria for team members. - Develop standard operating guidelines to facilitate an organized approach to an emergency response. - Coordinate and in some cases deliver training to team members on a regular, recurring basis per NFPA and CFR guidelines. - Maintain compliance with NFPA and OSHA guidelines, and integrate regulatory compliance and best practices into normal operations. - Oversee the all aspects of the development, maintenance and deployment of specialized marine firefighting equipment, including but not limited to, the design and specification of fire monitor systems, large volume pump systems, foam applicators and nozzle selection. - Confined Space Rescue trainer and supervisor. - Integrate IFSAC and Pro-Board certification into the current training program, increasing the validity and legitimacy the training program and standardizing team member certifications with responding agencies.

Oversee day to day operations of the operations and maintenance section, including the repair of emergency response equipment, fabrication of new or redesigned pieces of equipment, design of response equipment. Development preventive maintenance procedures, track maintenance progress for larger repairs, coordinate ordering/purchasing of parts and consumables. Purchase tools and equipment and develop procedures for their use.Coordinate, develop and at times deliver training for internal response personnel and outside member company personnel. Responsible for developing the skills and capabilities of external responders to make them ready for a real response and bring them and their companies into compliance with current regulations. Training programs include HAZWOPER, AMPD, small vessel operations, basic and advanced booming strategies.
