After being fired for the third time, I finally started my entrepreneurial journey in 2012 at the age of 19 with no formal business education. My "great" idea? To make nut butter. At the time, I realized the price of nut butter was exorbitant, and I thought, "For what? It's just a jar of crushed nuts." So, I began sourcing nuts and creating my own recipes. This journey led to collaborations with large brands like Kauai, Montagu Nuts, Bushmans Chilli, and even Netcare Blaauberg Hospital. However, my inexperience soon caught up with me, and I started feeling apprehensive. I thought going through with these large deals and contracts would mean being stuck in the nut butter industry for the rest of my life. So, I pulled out—not exactly my brightest move.Nevertheless, my entrepreneurial spirit was sparked. After a brief stint of teaching English in Southeast Asia, I completed my IKO kitesurfing course, which allowed me to travel the world teaching kitesurfing. After teaching hundreds of students from all over the world, I had a good understanding of what they, as customers and students, were looking for and felt confident enough to start a kitesurfing school of my own. In 2015, I launched Coastline Kitesurfing, which went on to become one of the largest watersports schools in Cape Town.Over the next few years, I launched an SEO marketing agency aimed at sharing my marketing expertise with other watersports businesses similar to my own, with the goal of growing their customer base by X amount. Then, in 2020, I founded Climatebiz. What was meant to be a personal blog quickly grew, reaching millions of people and employing a team of 10+ scientific experts from around the world, all within two years.Recently, I've shifted my focus to podcasting with "disrupt." This new venture allows me to explore the raw, unfiltered realities of entrepreneurship through conversations with other founders and, most importantly, to NEVER STOP LEARNING. My goal is to share my guests' stories as authentically as possible, providing you with the inspiration and detailed knowledge you'll need to bring your own startup ideas to life.I am also working on my next startup and will share details of this project soon. 🚀
