I act as the first point of contact for our business partners within the community, which now number into the hundreds. During my time as the Employment Services Supervisor our program has seen increased placements, a higher average hourly wage, a growing pool of community partners, and an increased rate of employee retention. I am responsible for monthly, trimester, and annual reports of our TAG program outcomes to the Office of Refugee Resettlement. I lead program audits, interview and hire new employees, and oversee weekly team meetings and trainings. I have assisted in writing grant applications, created programs to work with refugee youth, and regularly teach classes focused on employment to students enrolled in RIC-AAU’s ESL program. I represent RIC-AAU at university panels and community meetings addressing issues facing refugees in Utah and to promote RIC-AAU agency services. I am an active member of the Governors Refugee Employment Subcommittee.
