My work positions food banks as anchors for multi-sector teams implementing innovative health and racial equity programming, including expanding access to fresh, local foods.In my role, I provide fiscal management for multi-million dollar projects, write grants, design programs, oversee technology deployments to large food pantry networks, and lead multi-sector teams in developing health and racial equity strategies to enhance food access. I've supported food banks nationwide, with significant hands-on experience in New York City, guiding hundreds of food pantries to better serve community members through low barrier-to-entry mobile technology. Mujerave improves family and community health in collaboration with indigenous women's groups in rural Guatemala. Mujerave employs a gender equity framework to break families out of the poverty trap and improve health outcomes in some of the poorest communities in the Western Hemisphere. *Responding to COVID-19 lockdowns in 2020, Mujerave was able to rapidly transition to providing direct food aid with over 20,000 pounds of emergency food distributed in 2020. In Totonicapán, Guatemala, a rural, landlocked province in Guatemala's Western Highlands, Mujerave has built hundreds of efficient wood burning stoves, planted thousands of trees in agroforestry patterns, and co-maintains seven industrial greenhouses. Our greenhouses are managed by local women. Women produce a mixture of staple crops for domestic consumption, traditional medicinal herbs, and sufficient excess to sell in profit sharing models in local markets, both reducing chronic malnutrition and creating gender-based income parity in rural villages. Mujerave's women-to-women educational workshops seek to end violence against women in Totonicapán and promote women's empowerment in culturally and linguistically relevant ways. As the Founder of Mujerave, a 501(c)3 organization, I set the strategic vision of the organization and spearhead our funding efforts.
