As a Quality Control Specialist I have been responsible for ensuring our customers get products that are free from defect. By testing and inspecting products before, during, and after manufacturing I help to ensure that project outcome aligns with the specifications outlined by the project engineer. If problems arise during construction, it is my job to aid in the troubleshooting process and bridge the gap between the hands on workers and the engineers whether that be through submittal logs, testing logs, definable features of work, or redlines. I bring a unique outlook to the table from being on both the public side and the private side of projects. My inspection experience has taken me across most major utilities such as natural gas, sewer, water, storm, and now electrical. I have also been involved in roadway construction projects, ADA ramps, RFIB crossings, and structural concrete. My main objectives and responsibilities include documenting and inspecting the work that has been done and the work that is yet to be done, submittals, testing logs, redlines, RFI’s, definable features of work, and reporting to the customer on a weekly basis. Making quality decisions (rejected or accepted) based on provided control outlines is the most important skill that I use in the field. Strong organizational and problem solving skills allow me to manage multiple tasks at once.
