For as long as I can remember I have been fascinated by processes, how it interacts with people, why it works and whether it can be improved upon.- How can I optimise queuing lines at Disneyland? (Child)- What is the process behind one company buying another? (Teen)- How do I enable an individual or team to be as effective as possible in their work environment? (Today)Incidentally, the second question is what got me into corporate finance after university. Having advised on and executed numerous multi-million and billion M&A transactions and IPO’s I think I’m getting closer to the answer.During my three years in private equity and since then while managing, advising and investing in start-ups and high-growth companies, I have been exposed to many fascinating management teams. However, all of them struggled with the same problems; a lack of prioritisation from the top down, poor communication and ineffective processes. The human aspect of any process is critical and often gets disregarded. But just like an operational process, it can be analysed and improved upon.Today, my passion is to work with smart teams on exciting projects. My focus is to enable people to be the best they can be, by arming them with the tools and mindset to channel their energy towards their most valuable task. Besides work, my motto is “Life is too short to be small”. I travelled to over 40 countries across six continents and speak three languages. I climbed five +5,000m mountains and I dived with Great Whites and Hammerheads.
