Since the early 90’s I have been active in residential real estate with the management and development of a family patrimony and the realization of several smaller projects with apartments mainly for rental. Until 2012, real estate and project development will remain a secondary activity of the 'family group' under PragManI BVBA, a group that was founded in 1992 to carry out the main activity in IT and management consulting and to be able to invest from that income. Initially active in IT, I shifted my focus to Interim, Change and Crisis Management from 2001, for assignments mainly related to the European continent. The 10 years of experience as an interim manager have resulted in a very broad experience with financial and legal matters, corporate structures, negotiations with business, financial and partners and banks, and with building management and organizational structures. At the beginning of 2012, I decided to shift the main activity from interim management to real estate development. Looking for a segment in which I as a developer can bring significant added value, I opted for a residential project for seniors with the intention of not only realizing the building, but a unique total concept. At that time, the market for service flats was still very limited due to the legislative framework and the programming for approvals, and the intended concept had to provide an answer to this. The success of this project was the immediate reason for taking several projects into portfolio, resulting in 2016 today with a diversified range of residential real estate and assisted living apartments that is being marketed under the name Cornerstones (www.cornerstones.be). However, assisted living remains our great passion and more than ever the domain in which we want to be a leading player in Flanders and possibly Wallonia, where we also realize a first project.
