Starting this research journey after +10 years in the industry has been a lovely experience. Joining an academic research team is very inspiring, while I could give a different drive to the research methodologies. What started as a supporting research role opened the opportunity to pursue a doctoral study. The subject of data-driven lifetime assessments closely matches with the activities and ambition at 24SEA. Having the possibility to take a role in which one can take a deep dive into this matter was a great experience. Indeed was. Personal introspection and increasing workload in other roles within 24SEA led to me and the promotor deciding to pause this doctoral study trajectory. I keep fulfilling a part time role as scientific researcher / R&D engineer to support the team in various projects and making the bridge between the highly valued academic office and the fascinating offshore wind industry.

In light of the EPCI-projects I joined the engineering department to contribute to the design phase for offshore constructions. Core tasks are the coordination of the design such there is a foundation design which satisfies Employer, Consultant, Fabricator and Contractor.Projects: Kentish Flats extension OWF, Rentel OWF (concept design)

A new challenge within the DEME-Group presents itself in DEME Offshore (former GeoSea).

Working at Rampelberg-Somers was my summer job from 2004 until 2010. Typical student job with a lot of flexibility. From stock-counting, gardening, administration, deliveries to warehouse responsible.

Applied for a summer internship with DEME. From the start, I got thrown into the very dynamic world of DEME. The experience has been beyond expectations. Had the opportunity to work on the most exciting locations with amazing colleagues. Internship sites: - Gladstone, Australia (Fishermans Landing, Early works, Dredeco)- Richards Bay, South-Africa ( Maintenance dredging in the port of Richards Bay and beach reclamation)- Durban, South - Africa (Dry-dock of the vessel Pompei)
