My story is an example of what can happen when you influence a child at a young age to something he wants to do for the rest of his life. My love for sports began when I was 5 years old, when my father would take me to the arena every week to play the game that I now love. As I grew older, my passion for sports grew in ways I never imagined possible. My goal is to be an NHL coach or GM.I am a minor hockey coach in the OMHA for the Richmond Hill Jaguars. I am currently an head coach at the AA level. The best part about this is that my father will join me on the bench as an assistant coach. This experience is providing me with the necessary experience to go to the next level.Over the last few years, I've spoken with many players and parents and seen firsthand the impact of my teaching on these players as individuals. As a first-year coach, I've applied all of my skills to this opportunity, like leadership, responsible, communication and teamwork. The mentorship I've received in the Richmond Hill Organization has taught me many ways to be a better person and coach.Developing players is something I take pride in; growing up, I was extremely fortunate to have great coaches who always made hockey fun and a place I wanted to go. I want to be the same role model for these kids and teach them life lessons they will never forget I believe there isn't enough development for young hockey players, and it's not as enjoyable as it should be. I want to be different and make kids enjoy coming to the rink again.Being immersed in roles in hockey player development has sparked a passion of mine to expand my knowledge through the Sport Management program at Humber College. This includes classes Risk Management, Customer Service Excellence, and The Leadership Experience. People who know me would say that he is a funny guy who always has a smile on his face. Some other people will say I work too hard and I am always doing too much. Whatever people think of me motivates me every day to become the person I am today, a hardworking person who brings out the best in everyone and tries to push myself and others.Aside from school and coaching, I enjoy playing sports with friends and family, playing video games, and watching hockey, basketball, and football on Sunday. Together, let's build a setting where children look forward to visiting the rink, field, or court and where they may grow as people and athletes. We can all experience kid sports as genuinely pleasurable and fulfilling if we work together.
