I am a highly skilled geoscientist with a passion for mining, environmental assessment, and sustainable resource management, built on eight years of impactful work within Ghana's mining industry, specifically with the Minerals Commission of Ghana and currently with Aggrey & Associates Ltd (www.aggreyandassociates.com). During this time, I played a critical role in developing mining feasibility studies, monitoring mining operations for ESG compliance, and integrating health considerations into mining impact assessments. Currently serving as a Research Associate at the University of Liverpool, I am engaged in a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) scoping study. This groundbreaking project focuses on the potential operational implementation of gene drive Anopheles species in West Africa for malaria control. With an aim to identify crucial environmental, socio-economic factors, and associated risks of gene drive technology. Notably, my abstract has been accepted for presentation at the prestigious 43rd Annual Conference of the International Association for Impact Assessment in Ireland, alongside plans to publish two research papers in collaboration with my supervisor in 2024.Furthermore, I have had the privilege of sharing my expertise through guest lectures at the University of McGill, addressing the Environmental Mining Engineering class via video conferencing. Topics covered include "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly of Mining" in 2021 and "Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining in Ghana" in 2022. Additionally, I actively contribute as a demonstrator/facilitator for various modules within the postgraduate Environmental Assessment and Management program at the University of Liverpool. These modules encompass Environmental Management and Planning, as well as the Business and Environment, allowing me to impart knowledge and mentor aspiring environmental professionals.
